Halil Sezen is a professor of structural engineering in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio USA. He received his Ph.D. from University of California at Berkeley in 2002, his M.S. from Cornell University in New York, and his B.S. from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 1993. His primary research interests are in performance evaluation of structural components and buildings using computational simulations and experimental testing. He investigates the usage of advanced materials to reinforce, repair, and improve the performance of concrete structures. He is the author or co-author of more than 150 technical journal and conference publications. He advised more than 50 PhD and Master’s students. He is a Fulbright scholar, Fellow of American Concrete Institute (ACI), and Fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
